Tea market report 17 – 21 July 2017

The Mombasa market saw one of the last larger sales of 136,100 packages, along with reduced demand. Upcoming auction quantities are beginning to indicate that the seasonal decline has commenced. Teas sold at irregularly steady rates, with many types seeing rates up to 10cts easier. The upcoming presidential election is nearing and increased demand prior to the event seems to have passed. Temperatures in Kenya are continuing to decline along with crop volumes; pruning has begun.
