Tea market report 20 - 17 May 2019
In Mombasa the trend of smaller auctions and lesser demand continues. At this week’s auction, being the smallest of the year, only 75% of the 115K pkgs on offer have been sold. Traditional supply and demand theories are not applicable in the largest tea auction room of Africa at the moment. Sentiment seems to be dominant as the large buyers taking a very slow approach, leaving almost 30K pkgs unsold.
