WEEK 40, 2018

Tea market report 1 – 5 October 2018

In Mombasa, 132,310 pkgs were on offer this week compared to 140,966 pkgs the previous week; a somewhat smallish auction compared to the recent weeks. There was good demand across all grades where PF1’s were more prominent compared to other grades. Auction quantities rise in the coming weeks, and current crop intake indicates that this trend will continue, as crop intake marginally increases West of the Rift and 6 day plucking is now taking place East of the Rift.
