Tea market report 2 – 6 July 2018
In Mombasa, this week’s sale was down to 157,438 packages from last week’s 172,659. The market opened strong with brokers refusing lower bids. The strength was prevalent throughout the sale with some types gaining towards the close. The initial out-lot figure at 16,296 was almost 5,000 packages lower than last week. Tea production for the month of May was 43.4 m.kg, against 38.8 m.kg recorded during the corresponding month of 2017.
